A Day in History (Fashionable Day as Well)

Today was an unforgettable day for America.  We celebrated Martin Luther King's birthday and continued to let his courage and dream not skip our generation.  Today also marks the second term inauguration for Obama.  No matter if you voted for Obama or not, he is now our president and as an American it truly was an amazing day.  Although I really wish I could have made it to D.C, we weren't able to go.  I spent my evening covering the MLKJ Formal Ceremony at JMU with keynote speak Dr. Lamont HIll who was absolutely amazing and inspirational.  One of my favorite quotes from his speech was, "We live in a nation that has not grown old but has grown up."  Gives so much hope and inspiration to everyone around.

President Obama is a lucky man with three fun, fashion-forward women in his family. Congrats toJ.CrewThom BrowneJason Wu, and Kate Spade New York on dressing the ladies of the First Family for the big day!

I couldn't help but notice (although I always somehow notice) the incredible fashion gathered around for the inauguration. Beyonce in her Pucci dress and emerald jewelry  and Michelle Obama with her bang hair-style and smokey eye were absolutely breathtaking. today.  Breathtaking.

Eva Longoria, a committee chair for the inauguration, and Kelly Clarkson also rocked stylish yet sophisticated jackets with the perfect accessories.

Although I am not complaining about having the day off, this day was filled of proud moments to be an American and live in such an amazing country with so many opportunities.
