How to Wear by LC

So you have seen me post about how I LOVE sheer tops for this season.  My girl LC tells us how exactly to sport this stylish trend!

by Lauren Conrad

How to Wear: Sheer
Sheer is a having a moment right now. While it has held its ground in the fashion scene for a few seasons, it was definitely a key design element in many of my favorite Fall 2012 collections. Sheer layers, panels, and cutouts were spotted everywhere from Vera Wang and BCBG in New York to Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino in Milan. This cross-Atlantic trend is feminine and ethereal with a hint of mystery and sex appeal. Perfect, right? Personally, I love the look. Airy chiffons and see-through silks are amongst my favorite fabrics to design with… While this gauzy garb is lovely, many people struggle with it when it comes to executing the look. Why? It’s difficult to wear if you don’t know how to properly style it. Today I’ll be teaching you a thing or two on how to wear this transparent trend the right way…
  1. Assess the occasion. If you need to be demure, you will need more “under coverage” otherwise, if you’re looking to show a little skin then you can consider more minimal under pieces like bandeau bras, bandage skirts, or bike shorts.
  2. Color cues. Always try to wear a shade that is similar to the color of the sheer garment. Otherwise, pick a color that is closest to your skin tone.
  3. What lies beneath. This is the important part. If you wear a sheer top, pair it with a camisole or a spaghetti strap body suit. If you are going to wear a sheer skirt, I suggest a similarly colored bandage skirt or even bike shorts if you’re going for a sporty look.
There you have it! Now you can confidently don this seasonal staple like a pro.

Style Spotlight: Sarah Jessica Parker

As stated earlier I LOVE SJP.  I think she is the definition of style and embodies fashion with no matter what look she is going for.  All my friends know I adore her and love when people tell me I look like her (it may just be the curly hair but I'll take it).  There is nothing better than watching marathons of Sex and the City and ahhhing over Carrie's crazy yet perfect fashion.  Not only does SJP represent Carrie on and off the screen she is also a true lady of grace, fun and just down right cool-ness.

Her fashion is always right on point. She can be rocking a white tee, jeans and simple blazer and it just looks perfect. My favorite looks of hers of course are the extravagant, fashion-forward looks. Slicked back here, dramatic eyes, sky-high heels and a bold necklace scream SJP. It's about pairing simple pieces in different color palettes together and accessorizing them to scream YOU. Her fashion is often replicated but it is her style that is hard to replicate. She embodies true style and I love every second of it.
Style staples:
- Structured blazers
- Big colorful silk scarves
- Killer stilettos
-Over the top necklaces
- Over sized totes
-Sheer shirts
-Colored skinny jeans
- Black elegance with a pop of color

Enjoy SJP's greatest looks....

And how can we forget some classic Carrie Bradshaw looks....

SJP love,
xx Lauren

From My Girl LC: October Styling Ideas

If you didn't know already, I have an obsession with two and only two celebrities (besides of course hot men with dreamy eyes and six packs) and they are Sarah Jessica Parker and Lauren Conrad.  I am not big into celebrity gossip and obsessions but these two fashionistas I adore! My roommate, Tobes and I like to pretend Lauren is our good friend and that her emails from her website are directed to us.  We are nuts, I know but I truly think LC is a great inspirational woman.  Not only because of her success in the fashion world, but also for her strive to give back and be a true and good role model to women.  I will be posting many links to her website because it is my ultimate dream website so I hope you all enjoy it!

Here are her October Styling Ideas.  I personally love the sweater with with sparkly knits idea.  This option can can really be great for any occasion to show your stylish side and also keep it comfy.  Check out the leather look as well.. told you that was big.  I'm excited to also try out the sheer lightweight layer look as well... definitely thinking maxi skirts huh?

Hope you all enjoy, and as always love to my girl LC.
